Faculty Awards

Together with the University, the UL Lafayette Foundation annually hosts the Eminent Faculty Awards to honor five outstanding faculty members for their commitment to and effectiveness in research, teaching and service learning outreach. 

Congratulations to the 2017 Eminent Faculty Award Recipients Dr. Chad Parker, Dr. Michael Totaro, Dr. Boyun Guo, Mr. Corey Saft and Mr. Brian Kelly!

UL nabs nine journalism awards

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette received nine Mark of Excellence Awards at the Society of Professional Journalists Region 12 Conference here Saturday. Region 12 is composed of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.

The awards were for articles published during the 2016 calendar year. Winners in each category will advance to the national Mark of Excellence competition.

Six of the recipients were winners, and three were finalists, according to a press release from the school. Each category has one winner and two finalists.

Groundbreaking celebrates $2.5 million gift for Maraist Financial Services Lab

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration broke ground Wednesday for a facility that will help its students gain real-world business experience without leaving the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus.

A $2.5 million gift from Lafayette businessman Michael P. Maraist, a 1971 business administration graduate, will fund the initial construction of the Maraist Financial Services Lab.

State of Louisiana Board of Regents Gift Match Opportunity

For more than 25 years, our alumni and supporters have received a generous $40,000 match for their $60,000 gift to establish a $100,000 endowed professorship at UL. That $40,000 match has been provided by the State of Louisiana through the Board of Regents Support Fund (BORSF). Effective, July 1, 2017, that $40,000 state match will be reduced to $20,000, thus a donor will have to make an $80,000 donation to establish a $100,000 endowed professorship.
