THREE NEW OFFICERS CHOSEN FOR EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP FOR THE UL LAFAYETTE FOUNDATION BOARD - Monday, April 27, 2009
|
|
A transfer of power is the order of business in the
UL Lafayette Foundation, the primary trustee of University assets, as a new
Executive Board begins preparation for their two-year leadership appointments.
According to Julie Bolton Falgout, UL Foundation Executive Director, Barry
Berthelot has been named the UL Lafayette Foundation’s new President, Bill
Fenstermaker the new Vice President and Jay Culotta is Secretary/Treasurer. The new officers have a combined multitude
number of years of foundation management experience.
Berthelot, the former President and CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank Lafayette says he is looking forward to his term as the Foundation
Board President and will work to provide strong leadership
and guidance during these challenging economic times. He has actively served on the Board of
Trustees as Audit and Finance Chairman. Berthelot is a UL graduate in Economics.
Newly appointed Vice President Bill Fenstermaker has
served on the Board as Chairman of the Foundation’s Development
Committee and past co-chairman of the UL’s Centennial Campaign Fund Drive. Fenstermaker is a graduate of UL in
Production Management and is Chairman and CEO of Fenstermaker and Associates. A long-time Trustee member and University
supporter, Jay Culotta has been appointed as Secretary/Treasurer. Culotta also graduated from UL with a degree
in Pre-Med and is a practicing physician as a retinal specialist in Lafayette.
Outgoing officers, John
Chappuis and Gerald Dubroc, were recognized for their dedication as volunteers
to the University and continued commitment to service on the Foundation Board.
The UL Lafayette Foundation
is dedicated to the promotion of educational, social, moral and material
welfare of the University through assisting in the
acquisition of donations. The Foundation manages the investments and
serves as trustees of the endowment funds and other private assets contributed
for the benefit of UL Lafayette. Distribution of the funds is vital to
University success as monies are given for qualified scholarship and
professorship recipients as well as support of various University factions.
Falgout emphasizes
the fact the Foundations
success would not be possible without the continued support of our University
donors and Board of Trustee volunteers who have engaged themselves in the
perpetual care of this great institution.
