Our ever changing world has brought many challenges this
past year to our University, this Foundation and each of us individually. With these challenges come change and
uncertainty as well as new opportunity.
As the newly elected Foundation President, I want to assure you that
both the University and the Foundation remain strong and viable. This is due, in large part, to the generosity
of our donors, alumni and volunteers.
It is an honor for me to serve in this leadership position
along side a very talented group of businessmen and women from throughout
Acadiana that make up our Board of Trustees.
I am appreciative of their commitment of time and resources to
continually improve this Foundation. We
are constantly looking for ways to better this organization and take very
seriously our responsibilities as Board Members.
In these difficult times, we continue to receive support
from prior donors as well as donors new to the University. This is evident from our recent Distinguished
Donor's reception, where we inducted seven new members into the Hall of
Honor. To become a member of this elite
group, a donor must contribute $50,000 or more to the University. These seven new members created endowments
that are valued at $3,300,000.
Every gift helps to ensure that our students and faculty
are provided with the greatest opportunity to advance their careers and the
University's status. We thank all of you
for that. We ask for your continued
support for this institution which has had such an impact on so many in our
community, our state and beyond.
